Liger
Act 2 Scene 10 - Liger
(an overcast night, with a chill wind, The Smoker enters, with Cigarette in hand)
TS: Did you know they cross-bred this lion and this tiger? They call it a Liger.
C: Like from Napoleon Dynamite?
TS: Uh, sort of, but I don't think this one is bred for it's skills in magic. (pauses) It's name is Hobbs.
C: Ohhh...Like Calvin and Hobbes. That's kinda cute.
TS:(heatedly) It's not cute at all! It's an abomination! Thomas Hobbes would've hated it.
C: Why, exactly, do you think he'd have hated it?
TS: Well, he did say "Curiosity is the lust of the mind". And "The privilige of absurdity; to which no living creature is subject but man". Except now man has imposed his absurdity upon this misbegotten creature.
C: I see you've been reading BrainyQuote again. But I'm pretty sure that those quotes don't apply to the Liger. In ANY way, at all.
TS: ...
TS: Fuck you, Cigarette. It's still totally wrong.
C: Whatever...
(The Smoker puts Cigarette out, brushes some ash from his pants, and exits)
